"Ta Vare! - Taking Care!" is our innovative proposal for transforming the old Veterinary School at Adamstuen into a vibrant, inclusive neighborhood. Our vision is to create a space that welcomes a diverse range of users and offers various facilities.
We propose preserving the majority of the existings, based on thorough feasibility studies and a careful evaluation of cultural and environmental factors. Our approach ensures that the green pockest and large trees are maintained, along with the perimeter buildings. Specifically, we propose to keep 85% of the existing building volume and 90% of the existing trees.
The remaining buildings will be transformed with added new extensions. By freeing up select areas in the center of the site, we will create a clearer entrance and accommodate new programs such as an elementary school, high school, cultural center, library, studios, housing, shops, and cafes, primarily within the existing structures.
We propose a future-oriented housing scheme designed to create a neighborhood where people can grow old. This adaptable, multifunctional approach can accommodate all stages of life and offer various housing arrangements.
To create a sense of community among users and residents, we have distributed indoor and outdoor spaces to encourage shared use and engagement with the outdoors. Additionally, we propose new initiatives, including an urban development laboratory, a center for health and music therapy, and a fitness trail. These features are aimed at promoting an active lifestyle and enhancing both physical and mental well-being within the urban environment.
