Bellevue
Transforming Bellevue into five exceptional residences that honour its past while defining a new standard for living in Bergen
Bellevue has long been a distinctive presence in Bergen’s architectural landscape. LOCAL’s design preserves and enhances this heritage, restoring historic details while integrating subtle contemporary elements for today’s way of living. In close dialogue with the City Antiquities Authority, original features such as curved windows on the second level and terrace proportions inspired by archival photographs have been reinstated, ensuring a faithful and elegant continuation of Bellevue’s legacy.
The project comprises five generous residences from 190 to 320 m², each with its own private terrace or garden and dedicated parking. Interiors reflect the building’s history through refined materials, craftsmanship, and proportions, while delivering modern functionality and comfort.
A carefully considered northern extension introduces a discreet architectural contrast, allowing the historic façade to retain its prominence. Guided by a comprehensive preservation plan, significant materials and elements are being reused to honour the building’s past. Bellevue is envisioned as a timeless address — one that safeguards cultural identity while offering unparalleled quality in Bergen’s residential market.
