The Sviland feasibility study explores strategies to strengthen Sviland as a resilient local community within Sandnes municipality. Through workshops, digital participation, and dialogue with residents, the study identified key priorities: new housing types for all generations, a shared community and activity center, safer mobility, and better coordination between residents and local industries. The project provides spatial and strategic recommendations for a compact, inclusive, and sustainable village center with improved social, environmental, and infrastructural quality.
The process included four main steps: a stedsanalyse mapping Sviland’s existing conditions, an online survey gathering input from residents, and two public workshops where findings were discussed and ideas refined. Insights from these steps directly informed the development of the final study, ensuring proposals reflected both local knowledge and professional analysis.
